How much I blamed my body

The story
I’ll never forget how much I blamed my body.
After my first miscarriage, even though my brain knew it wasn’t my fault, my body and my heart were telling me something completely different.
I remember thinking, I haven’t even started trying to be a mum, and I’m already a bad mum because I couldn’t protect my baby.
That feeling of self-blame stayed with me through four early miscarriages before I eventually had my first son. Years later, when we started trying again, I experienced another loss before going on to have my second son.
Today, I have two healthy children, but that feeling of self-blame is still a very strong emotion for me.
I haven’t even started trying to be a mum, and I’m already a bad mum because I couldn’t protect my baby.
You can have people around you, but the thoughts in your head and the battles you go through are something only you truly know.
My heart goes out to every woman going through this.
