Omaia WorkplacePrepare your managers for the first conversation

Guidance for your managers, and emotional support for your employees and their partners, through the whole journey into parenthood: before, during and after pregnancy.

  • We’re trying for a baby.
  • We’ve started IVF.
  • I’m pregnant.
  • My partner is expecting.
  • We lost the baby.
  • I’m coming back after leave.

Most managers will hear one of these at work

Becoming a parent is one journey: planning and trying, fertility treatment, pregnancy and sometimes loss, birth, and coming back to work. People carry all of it into work, often for months before they say a word.

When they do, it rarely happens in an HR meeting. It happens in a 1:1, in a corridor, in a Teams message late on a Thursday. Most managers want to get it right, so they say very little. And the colleague hears the silence.

Support for everyone in the conversation

  • For managers

Know what to say, ask, offer and avoid

A short lesson each week, before the moment comes, and a guide to open when someone has just told them.

Omaia Workplace, manager view: this week’s 5-minute lesson, “Partners at work”, and the manager’s weekly rhythm.
  • For employees and their partners

Omaia Sense, for them and the one they trust

Emotional support through the whole journey into parenthood, before, during and after pregnancy. Partners have their own way in, with guidance for where they are now.

    What partners told us

    • “I want to understand what is happening without my wife having to explain it all.”
    • “I wish I had arranged more help at home before the birth.”
    • “My pregnancy app stopped being useful for me once the baby was born.”

Paraphrased from Omaia’s partner interviews, 2026

  • For HR

See the impact, never the person

Omaia Workplace and Omaia Sense are easy to launch, with a ready-made kit for the channels you already use. A scorecard then shows how it is going, from managers onboarded to how supported people feel. Numbers only show for groups of 10 or more. You never see names or what anyone wrote.

Omaia Workplace, HR view: a pilot scorecard. 21 of 24 managers onboarded, 17 active this month, rated 4.6 of 5 for usefulness. Employees and partners feeling supported at work went from 41% to 74%. Satisfaction with parental support 4.4 of 5, 12 of 13 back from leave and still there, and an estimated 540,000 kr in value from 2 more people staying than usual. Example data.

Built by people who have been there

Nina Elisabeth Larsen, co-founder and CEO of Omaia

“I got a call from a former colleague. She asked if I could help another colleague, who had lost her baby. I could, and I did. Most people don’t have someone like that to call.”

With the midwives and psychologists who meet these families every day

  • “I meet people before pregnancy, during and after. What most of them carry is worry: about their own health, the baby’s health, their life situation, their relationship, and how they will feel afterwards.”

    Anna FalkenströmRegistered nurse and midwife
  • “So many feel they have to do it the right way. I help people find their own way: what matters to them, like being present, kind and engaged. We need to build trust in ourselves to handle uncertainty and whatever challenges come our way. And partners need support in their role too.”
