Omaia ResearchTurning research into real-world impact
Omaia connects research, clinical knowledge and real-world experience so evidence can become useful, understandable and personal.
Publications
The latest research, evidence reviews and protocols from Omaia and the people we work with.
Nothing is published yet.
Each item will show its authors, institution, date, research area, status and DOI or source. What will appear here:
- Peer-reviewed publications
- Preprints
- Research protocols
- White papers
- Evidence reviews

- Research notes
- Conference presentations
From evidence to everyday life, and back again.
Omaia is building an infrastructure that helps researchers and experts turn knowledge into trusted support, while creating new opportunities to understand what happens outside traditional research settings.

01
The gap we are trying to close
Research produces enormous amounts of valuable knowledge, but it does not always reach the people it was created to help.
- Findings often take years to reach people.
- Evidence is scattered across papers, guidelines and expert knowledge.
- Research findings are written for researchers, not families.
- Population-level findings do not automatically translate into individual context.
- Valuable real-world experiences rarely make their way back into research.
- Evidence changes, which makes static health content difficult to maintain.
What if research could remain connected to the people it was ultimately created to help?
That is what Omaia is for: it connects research, clinical knowledge and real-world experience so evidence can become useful, understandable and personal.
02
Our research thesis
Knowledge should remain connected to evidence
Claims, explanations and recommendations should be traceable to their underlying sources.
Evidence becomes more useful when context is added
The same information can mean very different things depending on someone’s circumstances, stage of life, symptoms, concerns and questions.
Research should not stop at publication
Knowledge needs pathways into products, education and everyday decision-making.
Real-world use can create new research questions
With appropriate consent, governance and privacy protections, interactions with evidence-based products may reveal gaps in knowledge and areas that need further study.
Omaia is research infrastructure, not simply an AI health application.
The Omaia research ecosystem
Omaia Studio
Turn expertise into trusted knowledge
Researchers and subject-matter experts can:
- bring research and expert knowledge into Omaia
- develop evidence-based content
- maintain authorship and attribution
- manage copyright and licensing
- create different formats from the same underlying knowledge
- review and update material as evidence changes
Omaia Ontology
Make knowledge structured and traceable
The ontology connects evidence, concepts, conditions, symptoms, life events, interventions, outcomes and content. Every piece of knowledge can retain its relationship to the evidence behind it.
Omaia Sense
Make evidence understandable in context
Sense is where the research becomes useful to people. It can use someone’s context to:
- explain what is happening
- surface relevant knowledge
- understand changes over time
- prepare questions
- understand options
- provide emotional and educational support
Omaia Research
Learn what we still don’t know
The research layer can ultimately help identify:
- unanswered questions
- recurring concerns
- gaps between available evidence and people’s needs
- areas where existing guidance is difficult to understand
- opportunities for prospective studies
Omaia supports understanding. It does not diagnose, and it does not replace care teams.

How evidence moves through Omaia
Then the loop returns to the start.
01 / 06
Discover
Research, systematic reviews, guidelines and expert knowledge.
04
Research shouldn’t be a one-way journey
Switch between the two and follow the knowledge.
What happens next goes back to the start.
05
Research themes
Maternal and family wellbeing
The physical, emotional and social experiences around family building, pregnancy, birth, postpartum, early parenthood, partners and families.
Preventive health
How personalised information and earlier support can help people recognise changes and seek appropriate care.
Emotional health and resilience
How evidence-based explanations, mental tools and contextual support can help people cope with major health and life transitions.
Human + AI clinical intelligence
How AI can safely help people and professionals:
- navigate medical knowledge
- understand context
- explain evidence
- recognise uncertainty
- communicate more effectively
06
How we evaluate evidence
- Source
- Quality
- Context
- Claim
- Confidence
- Citation
- Source
Omaia aims to distinguish between
- established evidence
- emerging evidence
- expert interpretation
- areas of disagreement
- insufficient evidence
Uncertainty is information too.
Research principles
Evidence before answers
The system should know what supports a claim.
Traceability
Knowledge should retain a route back to its source.
Context without overreach
Personalisation should improve relevance without pretending that context creates certainty.
Human expertise matters
Researchers, clinicians and subject specialists remain central to the knowledge process.
Safety by design
Health information should be developed within explicit safety boundaries.
Research with people, not just about people
Patients, families and partners should influence which questions are worth investigating.
Responsible research and AI
Privacy
Research and product data are handled under explicit governance and appropriate consent.
Consent
Product use should not silently become research participation.
Transparency
People should understand when AI is being used and what its role is.
Bias
Research and product evaluation should consider representation and differential outcomes.
Human oversight
High-impact research and knowledge decisions require appropriate expert oversight.
Separation of evidence and inference
Omaia should distinguish what research says from what the system concludes from context.
